The men’s ministry at The Shiloh Church is strategically designed to strengthen the church family and extend the love of Christ to our communities

Families will be strengthened through relevant and practical bible instruction that cultivate a heart for our Lord. Strengthening only occurs when the mind and life are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit of God. Regardless of your experience, Shiloh is committed to your transformation into the image of Jesus Christ. As a result of the personal metamorphosis, our communities experience the love of Christ through the presence of God’s people sharing God’s Word and love. So whether you are an infant in your knowledge of the Bible or a seasoned follower of Christ, we are committed to helping you navigate life’s challenges and reach maturity in Jesus Christ.

Simply put, we meet on the 1st Saturday of every month and there are ten values to which we ascribe:

A 1st & TEN man is…

  • Compassionate
  • Disciple
  • Faithful
  • Good Steward
  • Integrity
  • Kingdom Minded
  • Prayerful
  • A Priest of His Own Home
  • Sober-minded
  • Trustworthy

Secondly, in football it means that you have a brand new set of downs to attempt to reach the goal line.  We believe that when you accept Jesus into your heart He gives you a brand new set of downs and He helps you to score in life.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2nd Corinthians 5:17

Where men prepare themselves before battle.

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."  Proverbs 17:17

We are committed to developing authentic relationships with Jesus Christ and other men at Shiloh Church of Garland.  Our contributions will be measured by the impact we have on our families, our church, and our community.

1st Quarter:  Each member of the ministry will enter a prayer group and will commit to that group for one year.  The size of the prayer group will range from 3 to 6 men.  The group will be required to visit by phone or in person once a week.  These groups are designed to provide support, encouragement, and prayer for each member of the group.

2nd Quarter:  We are obligated as men of GOD to provide a service on His behalf.  Therefore, each man in the ministry should commit to helping the church in other ministries.  This men's ministry, "1st & TEN," will then be an instrumental force in helping this church grow.  We can be part of making disciples for Jesus Christ to impact the world for time and eternity.

Half Time:  We will also commit to an annual 1st & TEN Retreat.  The retreat will allow us to celebrate our friendships and reconnect with Christ.  The retreat will encompass some type of outdoor or sporting event activities.  The 1st & TEN Retreat will bring us full circle;”...developing authentic relationships with Jesus Christ and other men at The Shiloh Church of Garland."

3rd Quarter:  On the first Saturday of every month, we will gather at The Locker Room to build community among men, discuss one of the ten values we ascribe to, and share in times of enrichment.  These gatherings are designed to enhance the lives of the members of 1st & TEN and guests.  The training calendar will address Wellness & Fitness, medical concerns for men, Wealth Building, Improving our Parenting Skills, Spiritual enrichment and Leadership courses.

4th Quarter:  Prayer groups may be asked to participate in community outreach programs.  The programs will be another way we as men can demonstrate that we are willing and capable of caring for those who are not as blessed as we are.  The programs may consist of Project 319, prayer walks, faith sharing with other men, Union Gospel Mission, as well as others.
